St Andfrews

The church was re-opened for Divine worship on Shrove Tuesday, with morning service, a sermon, and communion. There was a large though not a crowded congregation, including many of the parishioners and clergy, and several visitors from a distance. Among the clergy present were the Revds. 0. Raymond (Rector), O. Raymond. jun. (Curate). St. Clere Raymond (Otten Belchamp), W. K. Borton, Rural Dean (Wickham), Irving (Foxearth), T. L, Green and T. Anderson (Sudbury. St. Peter and St. Gregory), W. N. Andrews (Chilton), R. Andrews (late of Bulmer), Carey (Henny). Shortland (Twinstead), Burney (Halstead, St. Andrew's), A. Hanbury and A. Hanbury, jun. (Bures), Hallward (Milden), Fisher (Liston), R. K. Longdon (Brent Eleigh), J. Bailey (Great Waldingtield), Teesdale (Lamarsh), and Crowther; N. C. Barnardiston, Esq., R. Almack, Esq., Captain Foster, J. Greene, Esq., F. Grubbe, Esq., — Fisher, Esq., G. D. Badham, Esq., — Crowther, Esq., etc.,etc.. ‘

The Rev. O. Raymond, jun., said the prayers. Rev. W. N. Andrews the lessons, and Revds. 0. Raymond, sen., W. K. Borton, and Sr. Clere Raymond assisted in the communion service.

The service was choral, and the responses were well rendered, Miss Raymond presided at the harmonium during the first part of the service, and Mr. Ambrose, organist. Sudbury, at the post-communion service. The choir consisted of children from the school, and assisted by some of the clergy.
